Shearwaters!
The Shearwaters are back. They top the list as a favorite wildlife phenomenon we get to experience on the Monterey Bay. In the late evenings rivers of them flow into Santa Cruz area from the outer waters in search of a final meal for the day and a nice place to rest. I have no idea how they coordinate, but, they congregate in huge groups; hundreds of thousands of them. Just before laying down on the water they’ll swirl in a tornado.
