Wildlife Sail & Whale Watching in Santa Cruz, CA
Nomad is a sailing vessel focused on whale and wildlife. We do wildlife. As Santa Cruz is near the head of the Monterey Bay’s underwater canyon, it makes it the preeminent wildlife cruise destination. Sightings include Southern Sea Otter, California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Egrets, Pelicans, Humpback, Grey, and other whales. Porpoises, turtles, jellies, and a myriad of sea birds scatter these waters year after year.
We offer Santa Cruz whale watching in the morning because that is the best time of the day to go out to the deep water where they are before the winds start to blow later in the day. Although we have our finger on the pulse, we do not guarantee that we will find whales as they are wildlife that do what wildlife does; not what we would wish them to do.
